The Safe and Sound Cities programme, managed by the Global Infrastructure Basel Foundation (GIB), is issuing a Request For Proposals (RFP) for single non-profit organisations or a consortium of entities led by one non-profit organisation based in the Global South, to serve as a Global Youth Advocacy Partner.

The selected partner organisation will play a central role in:

  • Supporting the activation and expansion of the S²Cities Global Learning Network (GLN).
  • Positioning S²Cities as a thought leader in youth-led innovation and meaningful youth participation in urban governance.
  • Working closely with our network of young people from programme cities to empower and organise a group of youth advocates and ensure their participation in global and regional urban governance platforms.

Partners shall take on an advisory role on the best practices of youth advocacy and engagement within the S2Cities global programme, and support the formulation of a strategy for global youth advocacy.

Key deliverables expected of the Partner may include a workplan and methodology, an advocacy strategy and annual action plan, active and careful documentation of youth-led advocacy outputs, a final report including lessons learned and recommendations, etc.

Eligibility for this opportunity is limited to organisations from the Global South. The selected team should bring expertise and experience in youth engagement, community organisation, and urban governance, along with working knowledge of and familiarity with the S²Cities programme.

Organisations can apply to this opportunity by sending a proposal (5-8 pages), outlining a youth advocacy strategy with a methodology approach, which maps out its contributions toward the achievement of the objectives of the S2Cities programme.

Email the proposal as a Word document or a PDF to Andrea Betancourt (andrea.betancourt@gib-foundation.org), with the subject line– ‘Submission Youth Advocacy Partner S2Cities, Name of Organisation’.
